Hi, I’m Jodie - or Boo, if you prefer! I’m the maker behind Designed by Boo. I’m a silversmith, potter, knitter, seamstress, YouTuber, and graphic designer - if it’s creative, I’m probably doing it! I started Designed by Boo in 2017 after completing a foundation degree in 3D Design, but I’ve always been an artist at heart. I’m passionate about learning new crafts and bringing imaginative ideas to life through my handmade creations.

Where it All Began:

As a child, I’d fill pages with fashion designs - I wish I still had them, some were wonderfully wild! In my teens, my art took on a darker, gothic twist, and I discovered the world of digital design. With my first graphics tablet, I taught myself to paint realistic portraits on my computer.

Studying 3D design opened the door to a whole new world of creativity beyond drawing and painting. I learned how to forge and solder silver and gold, turn wood on a lathe, and throw pottery on a wheel. That’s when Designed by Boo was born.

What started as custom cartoon portraits and vinyl decals, along with outsourced printed mugs and t-shirts, has grown into a handmade business where most of our creations are now crafted entirely by hand.

Based in Devon, England, Designed by Boo is inspired by nature, the sea, and - most of all - a love for huskies. That love began with the incredible and dearly missed K'eyush the stunt dog, whose humour, stunts, and heartwarming bond with me brought joy to over 2 million YouTube subscribers.
